Young shoots Coatesville past Reading; WC East, Sun Valley notch wins

Coatesville 58, Reading 48 – The unbeaten Red Raiders (6-0) overcame a 36-33 deficit with a tide-turning 25-12 run in the fourth quarter, keyed by a trio of three-balls from Aaron Young, en route to the victory at the West Chester University Shootout Saturday night.
Young finished with 14 points for Coatesville, which also got a game-high 17 points from Jhamir Brickus and 11 apiece from Donovan Brickus and Dapree Bryant.
Hitting double figures for the Red Knights (3-4) were Wesley Butler (14 points), Denim Adams (13) and Daniel Colter (10).

Sun Valley 67, Chester Charter 39 – The Vanguards improved to 8-0 on the season behind the double-figures scoring of Vinny DeAngelo (22 points, 2 treys), Isaac Kennon (18, 4 treys) and Martin Freeman (10, 2 treys).

Unionville 57, Avon Grove 27 – Wyatt Hockenberry scored 11 points and Shawn Neylon netted 10 as the Indians shook off a slow start to record the nonleague win. Trailing 8-7 after one quarter, Unionville took charge at 40-22 entering the final frame behind advantages of 14-5 and 19-9 in the middle periods. Bryson Morgan topped the Red Devils with 8 points.

Josh Ploener and Buzz Hertz chipped in with 11 points each for Kennett.

Garnet Valley 58, Great Valley 44 – Gavin Frankenheimer hit three triples en route to a team-high 20 points but it wasn’t enough as the Patriots suffered the nonleague setback. Neel Beniwal scored a game-high 23 points for the Jaguars, who turned a 31-17 halftime lead into an insurmountable 43-24 advantage heading into the fourth quarter with a 12-7 run in the third.
