Wrap: Henderson lights up Ridley behind O’Donnell, Bauer, Heisman

WEST CHESTER – Katie O’Donnell, Ryann Bauer and Katie Heisman combined for 18 goals as West Chester Henderson rolled to a 22-4 nonleague girls’ lacrosse triumph over Ridley Monday.

Coming off a tough 9-8 victory in their season opener Friday over Spring-Ford, the Warriors removed all drama by racing out to a 15-3 halftime lead. Julianna Cantor needed to make just three saves in posting the win.

Downingtown West 11, Council Rock South 8 – The Whippets earned their first win of the season behind Maddie McGrail’s five goals and the strong defensive work of Emily Gazzero and Keri Caruso.

Downingtown West also got a hat trick from Melissa Vogelgesang and outstanding play in the midfield from Annie McCoy to improve to 1-1 on the season.

Phoenixville 9, Coatesville 8 –Hannah Leahan came through with a hat trick but it wasn’t enough as the Red Raiders dropped their season opener on the road. Leading the way for the Phantoms with five goals and one assist was Zoe Bullotta.
