Wrap: Henderson drills Downingtown East; Coatesville rallies past WC East

WEST CHESTER – West Chester Henderson sent 16 men to the plate in the first inning and scored 11 times to fuel a 14-2 Ches-Mont League romp over Downingtown East Tuesday at Bob Owens Field.
The Warriors (5-9) got nine of their runs after two were out, with the big blows in the inning a two-run single from Vinny Feola, Mike Hill’s RBI-double and run-scoring singles from Matt Dinacci (2-3, 2 RBI), Thomas Caufield (2-2, 2 runs) and winning pitcher Grayson Davis. Hill finished with a pair of doubles and scored three runs in addition to driving one across.
Davis allowed just one hit and no earned runs over five innings, striking out one while walking two and hitting one batter. Tommy Marrollo’s RBI-double in the third inning was the lone hit for the Cougars (7-7).
In an ironic sibling twist, senior outfielder Eddie Caufield pinch hit for brother and freshman Thomas Caufield in the bottom of the fourth inning, drawing a four-pitch walk in his first career at-bat.
