Wrap (early): Christian Ray’s 27 help Octorara survive WC East; Downingtown West rolls

WEST CHESTER – Christian Ray pumped in 27 points as unbeaten Octorara took charge in the second half to record a 65-60 Ches-Mont League crossover victory over West Chester East Tuesday night.
Trailing 36-33 at the break, the Braves (9-0) used a 17 -8 run in the third quarter to seize control. Jamonti Mayo finished with 11 points and Jackson Ray added 10 for the winners.
Hitting double figures for the Vikings, who knocked down 11 shots from beyond the arc, were Kyle Smith (14 points) and Milaj Singletary-Thomas (11).

Downingtown West  54, Downingtown East 37 – Ryan Betley poured in 18 points to pace the Whippets (3-0, 8-1), who expanded a 24-14 halftime lead to 42-22 entering the fourth quarter with an 18-8 run in the third. Will Peiffer led the Cougars (1-3 league) with 12 points.

Bishop Shanahan 62, Henderson 23 – The Eagles (3-1 league) soared to leads of 17-7 after one quarter and 39-12 at the break en route to the Ches-Mont National romp.
Jordan Ambrose and Drew Dolan contributed 13 points each for Shanahan while Archer Rymiszewski’s 8 points led the Warriors (0-3 league).
