Wrap: Cooper’s buzzer-beating trey lifts Downingtown East; Great Valley tops Rustin

EXTON – Jaret Cooper nailed a 30-foot bomb at the final buzzer to carry Downingtown East to a 45-44 Ches-Mont League National Division triumph over Avon Grove Tuesday night.
Cooper finished with a game-high 20 points and Ryan Cahill added 12 for the Cougars (1-1 league), offsetting the double-figures scoring of Brandon McCullough (16 points) and JB Petrison (10) for the Red Devils (0-2).

Great Valley 42, Rustin 35– Alex Capitano cashed in 14 points, including 8 in the final quarter, and Alexander Roker posted 11 to power Great Valley to the Ches-Mont American victory.
The Patriots (2-0 league) used a 22-13 second-half advantage to overcome a 22-20 halftime deficit. For the Golden Knights (0-1), Tyler Ramirez and Andrew Loucks had 10 points each.

Bishop Shanahan 64, West Chester East 50 – The Eagles (1-0, 1-3) got 19 points and three triples from Andrew Dolan en route to the Ches-Mont National victory over the previously unbeaten Vikings (1-1, 3-1).
Jordan Ambrose added 12 points, Dan Browne collected 9 while Doug Costin chipped in with 10 rebounds and 6 points for Shanahan, which expanded a 10-point halftime lead to 54-36 heading into the final frame.
For WC East, Malik Singletary Thomas netted 18 points and Kyle Smith hit three triples to finish with 13.

Unionville 59, Oxford 53– Pat Clark deposited 10 of his 16 points in the second half for the Indians (1-1, 2-4) in their Ches-Mont American conquest of the Hornets (0-2 league).
Trailing 43-41 heading into the fourth quarter, Unionville secured the triumph with an 18-10 run over the final 8 minutes. Jordan Shasteen (12 points), Drew Menninger (11) and Austin Fullington (10) also had double figures for the winners.
Brian Dorsey dropped a game-high 18 points to pace Oxford, which self-destructed by shooting 33 percent (5-for-15) from the line.
