West Chester East edges Shanahan; Seagreaves, Rickabaugh, Weaver power Coatesville

West Chester East 4, Bishop Shanahan 3, 8 innings – Jake Lutz plated the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning with an RBI-groundout for the Vikings, who got a combined six-hitter from winning pitcher Pat McFarland and reliever Evan Brunner in the Ches-Mont League National Division encounter Monday.
For the Eagles, Matt Bertolami drove in two runs and was solid on the mound while going the distance for the loss, allowing no earned runs while striking out eight.

Coatesville 11, Avon Grove 2 – Derek Seagreaves went the distance for the win, allowing just four hits and one earned run, and RJ Rickabaugh (home run) and Ryan Weaver drove in three runs apiece for the Red Raiders in their Ches-Mont League National Division win.
Picking up three hits each and combining for three RBI and six runs scored for Coatesville were Anthony Boccio (2 doubles) and Caleb Hershey.

Downingtown West 7, Downingtown East 1 – Aaron Sipes went 3-3 with a double, driving home two runs and scoring three more, Jake Welsch was 3-4 with an RBI and Eric Grintz pitched 6 1/3 solid innings for the win as the Whippets earned the Ches-Mont National verdict over their neighborhood rivals.
Grintz allowed just four hits and one earned run while walking three and striking out eight for D-West, which also got RBI from Kevin Small, Ethan O’Laughlin and Drew Morse.
The Cougars got their lone run on an RBI-single from Will Vincent, plating David Oswik (2-3, run) in the third inning.
 
Great Valley 7, Unionville 4 – Connor Ryan, Brendan O’Donnell, Griffin Lownes, Keenan Metrick, Danny Muck and Jacob Baugher all drove in runs during a seven-run burst in the fifth inning that enabled the Patriots to erase a 3-0 deficit and record the Ches-Mont American win. For the Indians, Kyle Lyons doubled, homered and scored a pair of runs.

For the Golden Knights, who got on the board with two runs in the top of the sixth, Jacob Fails and Dylan DeMarco had two hits each.
