Unionville’s Bennink, Kline in the hunt at District 1 boys golf championship

LIMERICK – Unionville’s Will Bennink and Richie Kline headlined the Ches-Mont League’s effort on the first day of the District 1 Boys Golf Championship Monday at Turtle Creek GC with one-over par rounds of 73, good for a a 7-way share of eighth place.

Also qualifying for Day 2 were Unionville’s Roy Anderson (74) and West Chester East’s Cole Shew (76) while Unionville’s Connor Bennink and Chris Skean, Rustin’s Ryan D’Ariano and Downingtown East’s Matt Walsh all shot 77 to sneak in just under the cut line.

The top five after Day One were all under par – Luca Jezzeny of CB West (68), Liam Hart of Holy Ghost Prep (69), Matt Fleming of Council Rock South (69), David Colleran of Radnor (70) and Andrew Wallace of Harriton (71). The event concludes Tuesday at Turtle Creek.
