Unionville rolls behind balanced attack; Henderson takes opener

WESTTOWN – Unionville got goals from six different players and three saves from goalie Katie Borlie in posting a 6-0 triumph over Garnet V alley Saturday at the West Chester Rustin Tournament.
Veronica Hineman, Claire Matson, Jackie Hug, Hayden Wilson, Sam Ciccarelli and Riley Glackin all found the range for the Indians (2-0), who scored three goals in each half.

Henderson 2, Villa Maria Academy 0 – The Warriors kicked off their season Friday by taking the opener in their own Henderson Tournament. Katie Holmes opened the scoring by converting a penalty kick midway through the second half and Natalie Miller closed things out off an assist from Holmes. Sara Lieffrig recorded the shutout with several outstanding stops throughout the game.
The second day of the event was washed out Saturday.

Pottsgrove 3, Sun Valley 2 – The Vanguards fell short in the championship game of their own Sun Valley Invitational despite getting one goal and one assist from Madelyn Mager.

Neshaminy 5, Rustin 0 – The Redskins exploded four goals in the second half, including three in a seven-minute stretch, to record the nonleague win at the Rustin Tournament.
Nicole Cousens finished with eight saves for the Golden Knights, who were outshot 14-4 and had no answer for Kristen Curley’s hat trick.
