Unionville, Great Valley ousted in opening round of states

PIAA-Class 3A First Round
(11-1) Emmaus 1, (1-5) Unionville 0 – The Indians ruled the stat sheet but lost the war in their season-ending state playoff loss at Whitehall High Tuesday.
Despite getting 10 penalty corners in the first half and countless shots from Michigan-bound Katie Anderson and Princeton recruit Claire Donovan, Unionville was denied time-and-time again by Emmaus goalie Claire Nielsen (9 total saves).
The Indians held lopsided advantages in shots (17-9) and corners (11-2) but were unable to get on the scoreboard. Delaware recruit Lizzie Gaebal finished with five saves for Unionville.
Unionville finishes its season at 17-7.
Emmaus (25-0), which has won 80 straight games, finally broke through when senior Emily Ingalls scored off a rebound with 17:56 remaining.

Class 2A First Round
(11-1) Southern Lehigh 1, (1-4) Great Valley 0 – The Patriots finished their season at 14-9 following the shutout  loss in the PIAA playoffs. It was the third straight postseason setback for Great Valley.
