Shanahan shoots down West Chester East; Furey-Bastian, Zubillaga spark Unionville

Bishop Shanahan 76, West Chester East 42 – The sharp-shooting Eagles (5-0, 8-1) extended their winning streak to eight and stayed perfect in the Ches-Mont league National Division Thursday behind a balanced scoring attack paced by Kevin Dodds (18 points), David Angelo (17, 5 treys) and Joe O’Malley (15, 3 treys).
Shanahan was deadly from beyond the arc with 14 three-balls. For the Vikings, Andrew Carr posted a team-high 13 points.

Unionville 61, Oxford 48 – Bo Furey-Bastian collected 16 points and Joe Zubillaga chipped in with 12 as the Indians went wire-to-wire for the Ches-Mont League American victory. For the Hornets (1-3, 4-4), Hunter Hall hit for 13 points and Brock Ruddy added 11.

Great Valley 45, Rustin 44 – Nate Graef posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds and the Patriots rode a strong second half to the Ches-Mont American victory.
After registering a steal with 4 seconds left, Gavin Frankenheimer hit one of two free throws for the deciding points. Liam Ward (14 points) and Matt Porecca (10) also hit double figures for Great Valley (4-1, 8-4).
For the Golden Knights (3-1, 5-4), who were unable to hold a 25-15 halftime lead, Taj Asparagus and Bryce Barrouk (5 treys) shared team scoring honors with 16 points each.

Downingtown East 50, Avon Grove 38 – The Cougars (3-1, 6-4) pulled away from a narrow 22-18 halftime lead with a 13-6 run in the third quarter to register the Ches-Mont National triumph.
Malik Slay cashed in a game-high 29 points for D-East while Destin Murphy led the Red Devils with 14.

Coatesville 80, Henderson 41 – Donte Crews led four players in double figures with 16 points for the Red Raiders, who cruised to the Ches-Mont National victory behind a quick start that produced leads of 21-9 after one quarter and 45-22 at the break.
Chuck Smith, Jahmir Brickus and CJ Brown chipped in with 10 points each for Coatesville, countering Archer Rymiszewski’s team-high 10 points for the Warriors.

Octorara 72, Kennett 63 – Dom London lit up the nets for 31 points for the Braves, who secured the Ches-Mont American victory with a 46-33 second-half edge after trailing 30-26 at the break. For the Blue Demons, Mitch Kosara led the way with 16 points.
