Scheuer lifts Unionville past Bishop Shanahan in OT

KENNETT SQUARE – Casey Scheuer went coast-to-coast for the game-winning layup in overtime to lift Unionville to is seventh straight win, a 51-49 nonleague victory over Bishop Shanahan Friday night.

Scheuer’s heroics capped a back-and-forth contest that had more plot twists than a Tarantino screen play and helped the Indians up their overall slate to 13-4 while snapping the Eagles’ eight-game winning streak.

Bishop Shanahan (16-2) had forced the extra session when Kelly Greenhut hit two free throws with 5 seconds left. It was still locked at 49 after Abby Bailey converted two foul shots, but Scheuer had the final say.

Micayla Flores went 4-for-4 from the line in OT en route to a game-high 20 points for Unionville, with Scheuer adding 10 and Sam Pancoast finishing with 8.

For the Eagles, who failed to place any scorers in double figures, Megan Cox, Ciara Forde, Devon Adams and Kelly Basile combined for 27 points.
