Rustin falls in District 1-5A semifinals to Villa Maria

Villa Maria 69, West Chester Rustin 58 – The Golden Knights (22-5) were outscored 37-19 in the middle periods after holding a 13-11 first-quarter lead en route to the loss in the District 1-5A semifinals Tuesday night at Harriton.
 
Rustin, which will host (5) Mount St. Joseph for third-place in the district and state playoff seeding, was led by Maggie O’Hare with 20 points, Becca Magrone with 14 and Erin Gallagher with 10.
 
For Villa Maria, which draws top-seeded and unbeaten Henderson in the district final Saturday (noon) at Temple University, Paige Lauder led the way with 34 points and Abby Walheim cashed 21.
