Rustin captures third straight state title behind Owens, Grande, Christie

STATE COLLEGE – Freshman Matt Owens posted a hat trick and junior Jason Grande notched the shutout with 22 saves as West Chester Rusting secured its third straight state ice hockey championship with a 6-0 blanking of Franklin Regional at Pegula Ice Arena on the campus of Penn State Saturday.

Senior Brett Christie found the back of the net twice and fellow senior Hayden Karnick also lit the lamp for the Golden Knights, who blew open a 3-0 lead with three unanswered goals in the third period.
