Roundup: Downingtown East blanks Bishop Shanahan; Great Valley survives in OT

EXTON – Maddie Baxter, Maddie Schier and Brittany Weiderhold all found the back of the net to lead Downingtown East to a 3-0 Ches-Mont National shutout win over Bishop Shanahan Monday.

Great Valley 1, Oxford 0 – After a scoreless 80 minutes of regulation, the Patriots needed just one minute in overtime to score the decisive goal as Devon DeHaven gathered in a cross front the right flank and scored from in front of the net

West Chester Rustin 7, Octorara 1 – The Golden Knights kept the pressure on throughout, notching 10 corner kicks in securing the Ches-Mont National verdict. Finding the range for Rustin were Alexa Bushey, Anusheree Godbole, Ashlyn Kearney, Mackenzie Moore, Domonique Simone, Casey Keiser, and Julie Griesemer. For the Braves, Brooke Bedady notched 21 saves and Brielle Kirk had the lone strike.

Unionville 4, Sun Valley 0 – Hannah Grandell and Kayla French netted two goals apiece to power the Indians to the Ches-Mont American triumph.

West Chester East 6, Kennett 0 – The Vikings took no prisoners, getting two goals apiece from Hannah Specht and Paige Murray in dispatching the Blue Demons. Shannon Moore and Kayce Pitt also found the back of the net for East.

Downingtown West 7, Coatesville 0 – Amanda Treadway burned up the nets for four goals while Haley Ferrer, Kerri Caruso and Deven Obendorfer added single strikes for the Whippets in their Ches-Mont National demolition of the host Red Raiders.

West Chester Henderson 3, Avon Grove 1 – The Warriors tripled up on the Red Devils in their Ches-Mont National encounter.
