Reilly, Weaver lead Coatesville past Oxford; Shanahan edges Henderson

Coatesville 7, Oxford 1 – Brendan Reilly went 3-3 with a double and three RBI while Ryan Weaver also drove in three runs with a home run and single to power the Red Raiders to the Ches-Mont League crossover win Friday.
Derek Seagreaves worked six strong innings for the victory, allowing just four hits, two walks and one earned run while striking out nine. Tyler Harris delivered an RBI-double to avert the shutout for the Hornets.

Bishop Shanahan 2, Henderson 1 – Anthony Bertolami carried a shutout into the seventh inning before Ryan Chapman came on to record the final out for the save as the Eagles held on for the Ches-Mont National decision.
The Eagles had taken a 2-0 lead with a pair of unearned runs in the fourth inning as Will Ciartone and Kenny Kunzman drove in runs.
But things got dicey in the seventh when Danny Collinson’s RBI-single drew the Warriors within a run. Chapman, however,  made all the right pitches in his brief appearance to quell the uprising and seal the deal.

Avon Grove 6, Unionville 1 – Drew Iaia and Karl Schmidt combined on a seven-hitter, Dan Luettgen drove in four runs with a double and single and the Red Devils took charge of the Ches-Mont interdivisional clash with four runs in the third inning.
Also driving in runs for Avon Grove were Andrew Nole and Aiden Duda while Nick Sciotto finished 2-4 with a run. For the Indians, Kyle Lyons and Austin Ahart collected two hits each and Alex Pelegrin added a double.

Rustin 6, West Chester East 5 – Ben Watson’s two-run double capped a three-run rally in the sixth inning to put the Golden Knights in front to stay in the Ches-Mont interdivisional clash between neighborhood rivals.
Watson also got the job done on the mound, going the distance for the win, allowing five hits and five runs (two earned) while walking three and striking out five.
Watson was 3-3, Owen King was 2-3 and Jacob Fails, Matt Fricker and King drove in runs for Rustin.
For the Vikings, Johnny Wileczek, Jake Cochio and Joey Wileczek picked up RBI.

Kennett 2, Great Valley 1, 11 innings – The Blue Demons pushed across an unearned run in the top of the 11th inning and shutdown reliever Ethan Sarosi made it stand in Ches-Mont American action.
Sarosi worked 5 2/3 scoreless innings for the win, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out seven in relief of starter Justin Oakes.
The Patriots, who got a combined eight-hitter with 10 strikeouts from Justin Harrison and eventual loser Keenan Metrick, had forced extra innings when Brendan O’Donnell hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth.
Louis Sharp was 3-5 with a run scored out of the leadoff slot for Kennett, which had taken a 1-0 lead with an unearned run in the fifth. Great Valley self-destructed with six errors leading to a pair of unearned runs.
