Pyfer, Ball, Demond lift Henderson; Shanahan, D-East prevail (early edition)

WC Henderson 3, Unionville 0 – Fiona Pyfer (16 kills), Amanda Ball (15 digs) and Taylor Demond (8 digs) were the standouts for the Warriors in their Ches-Mont League sweep Thursday. Henderson prevailed by counts of 25-20, 29-27, 25-21.

Bishop Shanahan 3, Oxford 0 – The Eagles ran the table in the Ches-Mont opener for both teams – 25-7, 25-8, 25-12 despite solid efforts from Logan Wolfe (5 kills, block), Madeline Williams (4 assists), Sarah Robinson (23 digs) and Danielle Stackhouse (ace) for the Hornets. For the Eagles, Tess Elder (10 kills, 3 digs), Cara Schultz (8 kills, 3 digs), Michaela Devlin (6 kills) and Natalie Ogden (6 kills) led the way.

Downingtown East 3, Avon Grove 1 – The Cougars improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the league by topping the Red Devils 25-10, 25-15, 23-25 and 25-22 in the Ches-Mont opener for both teams.

Downingtown West 3, Great Valley 0 – Kenzie Pincura (11 kills, 3 aces) and Chloe O’Donnell (22 assists, 4 aces, 7 digs) triggered the Ches-Mont sweep for the Whippets, who won 25-16, 25-20 and 25-14.

West Chester East 3, Coatesville 1 – The Vikings prevailed 25-18, 25-14, 17-25, 25-15 behind McKenna Good ( 9 kills) and Ally Banta (14 assists).
