Roundup: O’Donnell hits milestone, delivers game-winning goal for Henderson

WEST CHESTER – Penn State recruit Katie O’Donnell and West Chester Henderson started the girls lacrosse season in style Friday with a 9-8 nonleague win over Spring-Ford.

O’Donnell scored her 300th career goal and netted the game-winner with 50 seconds left to finish with five goals for the Warriors, who survived a second-half run by the Rams to secure the win.

Kennett 17, Penncrest 3 – The Blue Demons got hat tricks from four different players in posting the season-opening nonleague romp. Kristin Schaen, Aubrey Robinson (2 assists), Vickie Gallivan and Kristin Schaen all had three goals for Kennett, which got stellar defensive performances from Hannah Shiflet, Katie Gallivan, Liz Dawyot and goalie McKenna Coyle.

Downingtown East 17, Council Rock North 7 – The Cougars got seven goals from Caroline Ambrogi and five goals and three assists from Nicole Barretta in capturing their nonleague season opener. Victoria Barretta added three goals and three assists for Downingtown East.
