McMonagle, Delaney lead Henderson to Ches-Mont title; Great Valley’s Seeley named OW

WESTTOWN – Sam McMonagle (113) and Killian Delaney (120) earned gold medals to power Henderson to the team title in the Ches-Mont League wrestling championships at West Chester Rustin Saturday.

Logging second-place finishes for the Warriors (222 points) were Palmer Delaney (126), Luke Phayre (152), Koh Bauman (160) and Gavin Range (220).

Great Valley’s Ethan Seeley was named the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler after handling Downingtown West’s Chase Mielnik 10-5 in the 195-pound final. Seeley was 3-0 on the day with quick pins in the quarterfinals (0:53 fall over Ryan Duffield – Sun Valley) and semifinals (0:34 over Michael Plawecki – Henderson).

Oxford placed second as a team with 199 points behind individual champions Cooper Johnson (126), Brandon Sheffield (145) and Sam Blevins (285), while Rustin – keyed by gold medalist Collin Hurley (160) – earned the bronze medal with 178 points.

Keanu Manuel (106), Lukas Richie (138) and Matt Romanelli (170) captured individual crowns for fourth-place Downingtown East (174.5), while sixth-place Downingtown West (129) also had multiple champions in Maximus Hale (182) and Pat Cusack (220).
