Kennett’s Sheehan earns pair of throwing golds on home turf

KENNETT SQUARE – Kennett’s Alec Sheehan doubled his pleasure at the Kennett Field Classic Monday, taking the gold in the discus (159-7) and shot put (45-7 ¼).

Earning seconds in both of those events was West Chester East’s Thomas Silva (discus, 144-8; shot put, 44-1). Neil Erickson of Kennett was third in shot put (43—3 ¼).

Also, Rustin’s Sean DeLancey captured the high jump at 6-0, outdistancing the Kennett duo of Xavier Feliciano (5-8) and John McMillan (5-8), Oxford’s Patrick Kinsella won the javelin (137-4) over Unionville’s Erik Cunningham (136-8) and Troy Brown of Oxford took the long jump (20-5) ahead of Feliciano (19-8 ½) and DeLancey (19-2 ½).

In pole vault, Feliciano placed first (14-7 ¼) followed by Rustin’s Richard Iovanisci (14-0) and Kennett’s Pierce Genereux (12-0).

The triple jump gold went to Unionville’s Erik Lapszynski (39-8), with Henderson’s Will Gawrylowicz (39-0) and Unionville’s Kyle Garvey (37-9) finishing second and third, respectively.
