Kennett’s Robinson, Shanahan’s Colby sign with Shippensburg

Myles Robinson

Kennett senior Myles Robinson, surrounded by family and coaches, signs a national letter of intent to continue his academic and football career at Division II Shippensburg University during a recent ceremony at the high school.

Robinson (5-10, 175), listed as ‘athlete’ by position on the Shippensburg football web site, accounted for more than 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns from scrimmage in 2016. The honorable mention All-Ches-Mont League American Division selection rushed for 532 yards on 9 carries with 5 TDs while catching 25 passes for 493 yards and three more scores last season.

Robinson said on his decision to attend Shippensburg, “When I got on campus for my visit, I felt like I connected with all the guys. It was almost like I was already part of the family. And the coaching staff showed nothing but love.”

Robinson will be joined a Shippensburg by Bishop Shanahan senior OL Jake Colby, a 6-foot-1, 285-pounder who helped the Eagles finish 8-4 with a playoff win over Rustin, anchoring an offensive line that helped produce 30-plus points per game.

“The campus felt like home,” said Colby, a first-team All-Ches-Mont League National selection in 2016, “and the coaches and players were like family.”
