Holowski, Murphy spark Shanahan; Lawton hits 200-goal milestone in Downingtown East win

Bishop Shanahan 15, Coatesville 2 – The Eagles improved to 11-4 on the season with the Ches-Mont League National Division romp Thursday, triggered by Jess Holowski’s four goals and one assist and Liv Murphy’s hat trick.
Goalies Jess Gorr and McKenna Billie combined for 12 saves to key a solid defensive effort for Shanahan, which had 10 different players score goals.

Downingtown East 12, Downingtown West 7 – North Carolina recruit Livi Lawton contributed seven draw controls and five goals, including the 200th of her career, and Caroline Brennan added four strikes as the Cougars (13-1) stretched their winning streak to 13 by handling their neighborhood rivals. Corinne Bednarik and Peyton Mottice led the Whippets (11-3) with three goals each.

Unionville 19, Sun Valley 3 – The Indians (10-5) bolted out to a 15-1 halftime lead and never looked back in registering the Ches-Mont American rout over the Vanguards (4-10). Riley Glackin and Zenna Mariani delivered hat tricks while Saga Temple and Mina Scott cashed two goals each for Unionville.
Great Valley 17, Oxford 1 – Reese Canaday’s goal was one of the few bright spots for the Hornets (1-13) in their Ches-Mont American demolition at the hands of the Patriots (5-10).
