Henderson’s Spano, Bash shut down Downingtown East; Coatesville rallies by West Chester East

Henderson 3, Downingtown East 0 – Evan Spano and Brady Bash combined on a six-hit shutout with three strikeouts and James Vito was 3-for-4 with two RBI as the Warriors recorded the Ches-Mont League National Division win Wednesday at Bob Owens Field.
Henderson scored single runs in the first, second and fourth innings behind a 12-hit attack led by Ian Tracy’s 4-for-4 outing. Thomas Caufield drove in the other run for the Warriors.
Joe Cestare was 2-for-4 to pace the Cougars.

Coatesville 9, West Chester East 5 – The Red Raiders overcame a 5-3 deficit with four runs in the fifth inning en route to the Ches-Mont National triumph.
Brendan Reilly was 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs and Anthony Boccio drove in a pair of runs for Coatesville, which got 3 1/3 innings of shutout relief from Cam Trego.
Adam Smith lashed a three-run homer for the Vikings.

Bishop Shanahan 2, Avon Grove 1 – The Eagles took advantage of our free passes in the seventh inning to plate a pair of runs, the second coming on a bases-loaded  walk to Kevin Dodds that pushed across the go-ahead run in the Ches-Mont National clash.
Matt Bertolami allowed five hits and struck out six in going the distance for the win. For the Red Devils, starter Bryce Carey worked five shutout innings allowing two hits and two walks against seven strikeouts.

Kennett 8, Octorara 1 – MJ Patterson struck out 12 in 5 2/3 overpowering innings while younger brother Nick Patterson delivered a single, double and home run to carry the Blue Demons to the Ches-Mont American triumph.
Also for Kennett, Kevein Wessels went 2-for-4 with three RBI and Owen Dougherty homered in the bottom of the first and came on in relief to strike out four in sealing the deal.
Andy Imbierowicz homered for the Braves’ lone run in the top of the first inning.
