Fuentes paces Great Valley; Unionville rolls behind Hewes, Dolce

Great Valley 1, Phoenixville 0 – Miguel Fuentes cashed in a Matthew Wellener corner kick in the 71st minute to lift the Patriots to the nonleague victory in their season opener.
Quintin Wrabley posted the shutout in goal with five saves for Great Valley behind outstanding team defense led by Dean Fitzgerald, David Siguenza, Elvin Baci and Duncan Barth. 
 
Unionville 3, Pennwood 0 – Michael Hewes collected two goals and one assist and Alex Dolce recorded the clean sheet for the Indians in their season-opening victory.

Downingtown East 3, Bensalem 0 – Dan Good picked up the clean sheet while Nate McCourt, Cesar May and Zach Delone had goals for the Cougars in their season-opening triumph.
 
West Chester East 5, Devon Prep 0 – The Vikings took no prisoners in their opener as Driss Bensilmane posted a hat trick and Ben Delaney and Pat Stelmach added solo strikes.
 
Sun Valley 4, Oxford 1 – The Vanguards defended their home turf in the Vanguard Invitational as Zach Montgomery (2 goals), Austin Whittington (goal, assist), Alex Benz (goal) and keeper Jack Segool (10 saves) keyed the attack. Tyler Brooks (Fisher Berkowich assist) had the lone goal for the Hornets. Sun Valley faces Upper Darby for the tourney championship Saturday at 5 while Oxford meets Ridley in the consolation match.
 
Strath Haven 1, Rustin 0 – Gavin Birch cashed in an assist from Nate Perrins and keeper Noah Atsaves stopped eight shots for the clean sheet as the Panthers prevailed over the Golden Knights in the season opener for both teams.
