Ferguson, Henderson shoot by Downingtown East; Grand night for West Chester East’s McDonald

Henderson 46, Downingtown East 45 – Grace Ferguson scored off the offensive glass with 6 seconds left to carry the Warriors to the pivotal Ches-Mont League National Division triumph Thursday night.
Ferguson posted a double-double with 19 rebounds and 16 points for Henderson, which also got 17 points from Molly Manion.
Bella Smuda shook off foul difficulties to net 14 points, including 10 in the third quarter as the Cougars grabbed a 39-38 lead entering the final frame. Caroline Brennan added 10 points for D-East (7-1, 11-5), which had topped the Warriors 44-38 when the teams previously met back in December.

West Chester East 64, Coatesville 50 – It was a grand night for Vikings’ star and New Jersey Institute of Technology commit Marissa McDonald, who netted a career-high 25 points including the 1,000th of her career in East’s Ches-Mont National triumph.
Sophomore Lauren Klieber also had a career-high 20 points for WC East, which stopped the game in the second quarter to commemorate the milestone after McDonald scored on a layup to hit 1,000.
For the Red Raiders, Sarah Huston netted 20 points and Danae Ellzy added 11.
