Emerson, Coatesville batter Oxford; MacLaughlin boosts West Chester East

Coatesville 14, Oxford 4, 5 innings – Sam Emerson collected four hits and three RBI to trigger a 15-hit attack that carried the heavy-hitting Red Raiders to the Ches-Mont League crossover victory Friday.
Coatesville scored in all five of its at-bats, topped by five runs in the first inning and three-spots in the third and fifth innings to bring on the 10-run mercy rule.
Payton Landis (3 RBI), Kayla Bock (2B, 2 RBI), Phoebe Clemens (2 RBI) and Rachel Bankes added two hits apiece in support of winning pitcher Natalie Florschutz (6 strikeouts). For the Hornets, Julie Capelli and Shannon Martin had two hits apiece.

West Chester East 12, Rustin 5 – The Vikings built a 10-0 lead after three innings and were never seriously threatened in posting the Ches-Mont crossover victory.
Kayla MacLaughlin fell a double short of the cycle, driving in three runs and scoring three more, while Paige Olson (2-4, triple) and Alyssa Conlon drove in two runs each for WC East.
Mallory Hardwick had two doubles among her three hits while collecting three RBI for Rustin, which also got a 3-4 plate performance from Maddie Fife.

Kennett 3, Great Valley 2 – Genevieve Ebaugh dominated in the circle, firing a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts in her complete-game effort for the Blue Demons. Trailing 3-0 entering the seventh innings, the Patriots scored a pair of unearned runs on a two-run single by Amanda Heins but could get no closer than the final margin.
Bishop Shanahan 7, Henderson 2 – The Eagles notched the Ches-Mont National triumph behind ace Devon Miller, who fired a complete-game, three-hitter with 15 strikeouts. Hannah Keiper’s triple keyed an 11-hit attack for Shanahan.
