Eghbali-Pillai of Downingtown East, Great Valley’s Siani-Hamel claim Ches-Mont doubles titles

WEST CHESTER – Downingtown East’s top-seeded doubles team of Navid Eghbali and Abhinav Pillai held serve Friday, capturing the Ches-Mont League National Division championship in straight sets at West Chester Henderson.
Eghbali-Pillai didn’t drop a single set in the tournament, validating their lofty billing with a 6-3, 6-2 conquest of Downingtown West’s second-seeded duo of Brett Graybill and Josh Biskowitz in the title match.
Eghbali-Pillai easily handled Dillon Claffey and Griffin Hillsinger of Downingtown West in the semis en route to the championship showdown with Graybill-Biskowitz, 6-1, 6-0 semifinal winners over Downingtown East’s team of Tristan McBride-Luca Roswora.
McBride-Roswora came back to take the third-place consolation match in straight sets over Claffey-Hillsinger, needing a second-set tiebreaker to seal the deal.

Great Valley’s Siani-Hamel earn gold in American
EAST MARLBOROUGH – Great Valley’s Amish Siani and Ryan Hamel claimed the Ches-Mont League’s American Division boys’ tennis doubles title with a 5-7, 6-2, 7-5 conquest of Unionville Victor Li and Clay Horowitz Friday at Unionville.
In the third-place match, Kennett’s Davis Piercy and Nick DeFelice handled Unionville’s team of Kevin Liao and Parik Radhakrishnan 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
