Downingtown West’s Bradley locks up state singles berth while falling in district semifinals

Downingtown West senior Jordan Bradley earned a berth in the PIAA Class 3A singles championship by advancing to the semifinals of the District One tournament Saturday at the Legacy Center.

Bradley reached the semis with a 6-2, 6-3 conquest of Radnor’s Kanon Ciarrocchi in the quarterfinals to qualify for states, but fell to Neha Velaga of North Penn 6-2, 6-2 in her semifinal clash. The District runnerup in 2016, Bradley now faces Souderton’s Caitlin Le in the district’s third-place match Oct. 24 for state tournament seeding.
