Downingtown West takes down Ryan, advances in state duals

Downingtown West 51, Archbishop Ryan 15 – The Whippets (20-2 overall) punched their ticket to Hershey with a decisive win in the pigtail round of the PIAA Class 3A Duals Monday.
 
Coming off a third-place finish at the District 1-AAA Duals over the weekend, D-West got falls from Matt Wolf, Maximus Hale, Chase Mielnik and Jesse Cook to advance to the Giant Center in Hershey for a 6 pm matchup Thursday with Bethlehem Catholic in Championship Round 1.
 
The two-time Ches-Mont National champions also got tech falls from Nick Lilley and Gavin Hale and majors from Doug Zapf and Chase Hanak in racking up a slew of bonus points to dispatch Ryan.
