Downingtown West reaches state semis behind Miller, Coker

PIAA-4A QUARTERFINALS

(1-1) Downingtown West 1, (3-2) Lower Dauphin 0 – The unbeaten Whippets advanced to the state semifinals with the shutout victory – keyed by Anna Miller’s first-half goal off a Romea Riccardo assist and a shutdown defensive effort led by Caitlin Coker’s 12 saves Saturday at Exeter High School.

D-West (24-0), which turned away 12 Lower Dauphin corners in the second half alone, will face unbeaten Emmaus in the state Final Four Tuesday (time, site TBA). Emmaus moved on with a 1-0 victory over Owen J. Roberts Saturday.
