Downingtown West outlasts Great Valley; Weaver powers Coatesville

Downingtown West 4, Great Valley 0, 11 innings – Kevin Small picked up two RBI while Tommy Eliason and Aaron Sipes also drove in runs in a four-run, 11th-inning eruption that snapped a scoreless tie and lifted the Whippets to the Ches-Mont League crossover victory Monday.
Joe Blackburn, Adam Grintz and Kevin Small combined on a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts and three walks for D-West, offsetting 7 1/3 innings of shutout ball by Patriots’ starter Justin Harrison. Keenan Metrick went 2-5 to lead Great Valley’s meager attack.
 
Coatesville 8, Rustin 2 – The Red Raiders erased a 2-0 deficit with five runs in the fifth and added three more in the sixth to register the Ches-Mont crossover triumph.
Ryan Weaver, who finished with five RBI, blasted a three-run homer and Jake Verna and Brendan Reilly added RBI during the pivotal fifth. Derek Seagreaves earned the mound win, working 5 2/3 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out four.
Matt Fricker went the distance in absorbing the loss, allowing just one earned run while fanning five.

West Chester East 5, Sun Valley 2, 8 innings – Jake Coehlo drove in two runs, including the game-winner in the eighth inning, and Pat McFarland pitched four strong innings, allowing one run before Mason Griffin and Evan Brunner finished up with two solid frames apiece as the Vikings secured the Ches-Mont crossover win.
Johnny Wileczek was 3-4 with two doubles and three runs scored and Brunner also had two RBI for WC East.
The Vanguards wasted six efficient innings from starter Kenny Jensen, who allowed two runs on five hits while walking one and striking out six.

Henderson 7, Oxford 2 – Brendan Gray, Logan Conduit, Eric Angle and Cole Stevens drove in runs for the Warriors, who got a strong mound performance from Gray and Danny Collinson in recording the Ches-Mont crossover win.
Collinson worked two scoreless, one-hit innings with two strikeouts behind Gray, who earned the win with four strikeouts in five innings.
For the Hornets, Ryan Santangelo and Justin Neskie (double) finished with two hits apiece while Joey Morton (double) and Dalen Griffith picked up RBI.

Bishop Shanahan 8, Unionville 6 – Anthony Bertolami and Derek Gibbs drove in two runs apiece to pace the Eagles, who expanded a 5-4 lead with three runs in the sixth inning and held on down the stretch.
For the Indians, Austin Ahart was 4-4 with an RBI while Jason Granato, Alex Pellegrin, Connor Schilling and Jack Regenye also drove in runs.
Matt Bertolami picked up the win, allowing just one earned run while striking out six in five innings while Jake Monaghan pitched a perfect seventh with one strikeout for the save.
