Downingtown West drills Kennett; Avon Grove, Unionville post wins

Downingtown West 14, Kennett 0, 5 innings – Matt Turner slammed a three-run homer, Eric Grintz went 3-4 with a double and home run and drove in three runs and Evan Williams lashed a pair of doubles to drive in four runs for the Whippets Tuesday in the Ches-Mont League crossover clash.
Adam Grintz struck out eight and allowed just two hits during four shutout innings for the win before Jack Ginsburg finished up with a scoreless fifth that produced one strikeout.
Nick Patterson, Nic Gustafson and Justin Oakes all went 1-2 for the Blue Demons.

Avon Grove 5, West Chester East 3 – Andrew Nole had a two-run single while Bryce Porter and Aiden Duda added RBI-singles during a four-run explosion in the third inning that carried the Red Devils to the Ches-Mont National win.
Karl Schmidt went 6 1/3 innings, allowing 10 hits and three runs while walking none and striking out five, before Riley Davis came on to notch the final two outs for the save.
Joey Wileczek went 2-4 with an RBI while Mason Griffin also picked up an RBI for the Vikings.

Unionville 7, Coatesville 2 – Alex Pelegrin went 3-4 with two RBI, Kyle Lyons doubled and drove in three runs and Jack Regenye added two hits and two runs scored for the Indians, who took charge of the Ches-Mont crossover clash with four runs in the second inning.
 Jason Granato worked five innings to pick up the win before yielding to reliever Sean Matson, who allowed just one hit and no runs while striking out three over two innings.
Anthony Boccio belted a solo home run in the first for the Red Raiders, who got both of their runs in that frame.

Dalen Griffin had two doubles and scored three runs, Brennan Rozich drove in three runs while Ryan Santangelo and Tyler Harris added two RBI apiece. Justin Neskie allowed four hits and no walks while striking out nine in going the abbreviated distance for the mound victory.
