Downingtown West dominates Cherokee Challenge behind Devlin, Planck, Bullock

MARLTON, NJ  – Aislinn Devlin placed first in 11:30 and Emma Planck finished second in 11:55 in the Girls Senior Race to spark a strong performance by the Downingtown West girls and boys cross country teams at the 21st Annual Cross Country Cherokee Challenge Saturday at Cherokee High School.

The Whippets boys placed first in the team standings, led by top 10 finishers Shaun Bullock (5th, Senior Race, 10:14), Patrick Blair (10th, Senior, 10:26), Evan Kaiser (9th, Junior, 10:27.80), Tyler Rollins (10th, Junior, 10:28.83) and Joseph Chamoun (10th, Sophomore, 10:38).

Downingtown West took the co-ed team championship for the third straight year at the multi-school meet, which featured more than 2,000 runners.

Unionville also fared well at the event, getting top 15 finishes from Cole Walker (2nd, boys freshmen, 10:48.11), James Conway (11th, Sophomore, 10:42) , Madison McGovern (6th, sophomore, 12:46)  and Jillian Brislin (7th, senior, 12:16). The format featured eight consecutive two-mile races by class and gender.
