Downingtown East clinches state playoff bid on Hunter’s OT goal; Unionville finishes third, D-West fifth – updated

(7) Downingtown East 11, (4) Central Bucks West 10, OT – Leah Hunter scored off a Livi Lawton assist in overtime as the Cougars secured the seventh and final state playoff berth from District 1-3A with the comeback win Thursday.
D-East overcame deficits of 10-6 late in the second half and 7-5 at the break by scoring five unanswered goals at crunch time. D-East opens the state playoffs Tuesday against District 1 champion Garnet Valley.

(3) Unionville 18, (12) Perkiomen Valley 1 – The Indians locked up third place in the District 1-AAA tournament with the resounding victory  – kyed by the combined 11 goals and five assists cashed by Emma Malone, Annie McDonough and Erin Garvey. Mina Scott added a pair of strikes for Unionville, which plays (11-2) Easton in the opening round of the PIAA playoffs at Lehigh University Tuesday.

Roberts 7 – Emily Feeney posted a hat trick, Corinne Bednarik came through with one goal and four assists and Peyton Mottice and Regan Rightmire chipped in with two goals apiece to help the Whippets notch fifth place in the District 1-3A tournament. D-West faces (12-1) Archbishop Carroll in the first round of the PIAA-3A playoffs Tuesday at Northeast High.
