District 1-AAA Diving Results

TOWAMENCIN – Carlie Perkins of Avon Grove garnered the bronze medaI at the District 1-AAA diving championships Monday at North Penn.
The third-place finish sends Perkins to the state championships at Bucknell University on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14 (Class AAA). Perkins had 459.70 points to finish behind North Penn’s Marie Yacopino (512.50) and Pennsbury’s Nicole Costello (464.05).
Other top finishers from the Ches-Mont included West Chester Henderson’s Maddie Schaeffer (12th, 386.05), Avon Grove’s Boni Trinter (13th, 368.95) and West Chester Rustin’s Nicole Piper (14th, 355.00). Only the top eight finishers in districts qualify for the PIAA meet.
In the boys portion of the diving competition, host North Penn took three of the top four spots – with Ian Boland Brintner (510.95), Bryce Hoch (468.45) and Quinn Mitchell (459.10) capturing first, third and fourth respectively.
Tommy Schmidt of West Chester Henderson was the highest Ches-Mont finisher, placing 11th with 378.20 points. The only other Ches-Mont competitor in the top 20 was West Chester Rustin’s Chris Gallen (18th, 260.30).
