DiRocco lifts Downingtown West by Henderson; Dobbs, DiBeneditto key Shanahan

Downingtown West 4, Henderson 3 – Dylan DiRocco delivered a walk-off, RBI-single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap a three-run surge and stake the Whippets (5-1 league) to the Ches-Mont League National Division comeback win Wednesday.
Andrew Ciliberto picked up the mound win with one inning of scoreless relief behind starter Jake Reese and also contributed an RBI-double along with Drew Britt prior to DiRocco’s clutch hit.
For the Warriors (4-2 league), starter Evan Spano worked five sharp innings but settled for a no decision while Brady Bash and Logan Conduit had two hits apiece.

Bishop Shanahan 7, Avon Grove 5 –  Kevin Dodds had a pair of singles and drove in five runs while Dan DiBeneditto added a triple, two runs and two RBI to carry the Eagles to the Ches-Mont National decision.
Trailing 5-4, Shanahan plated three runs in the sixth inning and held on behind Jacob Monaghan, who pitched two scores innings for the win.

Great Valley 6, Rustin 5 – Brendan O’Donnell drove in two runs with a double while Ryan Giandonato (2-3), Pete Giombetti and Cade Reat also picked up RBI for the Patriots, who built a 6-2 lead through five innings and held on down the stretch when the Golden Panthers rallied for three runs in the seventh only to fall just short.
Sean Gowen nailed down the save with a strikeout in the seventh while Ryan Giandonato picked up the mound victory.

Downingtown East 13, Coatesville 0, 6 innings – The Cougars blew open a 2-0 lead with four runs in the fifth and seven in the sixth en route to the Ches-Mont National romp.
Mike Rodriguez keyed the attack with two hits, including a homer, while driving in two runs and scoring two more in support of winning pitcher Scott Jewett, who worked five scoreless innings before Michael Defant completed the shutout with a perfect inning of relief.
