Detweiler’s late goal boosts Unionville; Jaszczak sparks Downingtown West

ROYERSFORD – Maggie Detweiler snapped a late tie with 5:09 left in the second half to carry Unionville to a season-opening 2-1 nonleague victory over Spring-Ford Friday. Claire Donovan also scored for the Indians, who got six saves from goalie Lizzie Gaebel.

Henderson 7, Radnor 0 – The Warriors took no prisoners in their season-opening victory as Lexi Dunleavy and Carol Fillipas finished with two goals and one assist each. Also for Henderson, Emily Franco registered the shutout, Isabel Harkins and Gianna Cugino added goals while Lilly Siskind and Jillian Latimer registered assists.
 
Rustin 0, Strath Haven 0 – Meg Hatfield and Caitlin Baker were stellar in goal with a combined 14 saves to help the Golden Knights secure the nonleague tie in the season opener for both teams.
 
Conestoga 4, West Chester East 0 – The Vikings came up short in their nonleague season opener with the Pioneers.
