Coatesville’s Clemens, Bock take out Rustin; DeFreitas triggers longball assault for Downingtown West

Coatesville 10, Rustin 2 – Phoebe Clemens belted a grand slam and Kayla Bock launched a solo shot during an 8-run, third inning explosion that carried the Red Raiders to the Ches-Mont League crossover victory Monday.
Payton Landis and Nicole Wuertz had two hits apiece in support of winning pitcher Meline Minniti, who allowed just four hits in her complete-game effort. Maddie Fife had a pair of solo homers to account for the Golden Knights’ runs.

Downingtown West 11, Great Valley 5 – Morgan DeFreitas drove in four runs with two doubles and a home run and Natalie Beebe allowed seven hits and two runs with 12 strikeouts over six innings to carry the Whippets to the Ches-Mont interdivisional triumph.
Also blasting home runs for D-West were Carly Grandizio, Nicole Lioumis and Cait Coker.
Bishop Shanahan 5, Unionville 0 – Devon Miller dominated in the circle, striking out nine and allowing just two hits while Alexa Peterson, Emily Osborn and Miller drove in runs to propel the Eagles to the crossover win.
For the Indians, Lucy Brucker was 2-3 with a double while Sydney Horan absorbed the loss despite allowing just three hits and one earned run while striking out eight.

Oxford 10, Henderson 2 – The Hornets set the tone with seven runs in the first inning and pounded out 18 hits in recording the Ches-Mont crossover win.
Abbey O’Connor, Maddie Frank, Alexis Pearson and Danielle Stackhouse had three hits apiece for Oxford, while Julie Cappelli drove in three runs and Gianna Coyle (double) and Stackhouse finished with two RBI apiece.
For the Warriors, Jordyn Melnick was 2-3 with an RBI and run scored.
Kennett 12, Avon Grove 4 – The Blue Demons overcame a 2-0 deficit with seven runs in the third inning and two in the fourth and Genevieve Ebaugh keyed a 12-hit attack with three hits including a home run and three RBI.
For the Red Devils, Lexi Barnhart was 2-4 with a double and run scored and Becca LeStourgeon went 2-2.
West Chester East 10, Sun Valley 4 – Paige Olson collected three hits out of the leadoff spot, scored two runs and drove in three more to lead the Vikings to the Ches-Mont crossover victory.
Picking up two hits each for WC East were Sam Gomez, Jess Gomez, Kayla MacLaughlin and Kinzie Thompson – the 2-5 hitters in the lineup going a combined 8-16.
Jess Gomez picked up the win in the circle with Olivia Ronayne working three scoreless innings of relief for the save.
