Coatesville’s 4×100 boys fastest in the United States

Coatesville’s quartet of Dapree Bryant, Eric Kirk, Aaron Young and Dymere Miller finished as the top United States team in the High School Boys 4×100 Championship of America Saturday afternoon at the 125th running of the Penn Relays at Philadelphia’s Franklin Field.

The Red Raiders foursome clocked in at 41.82, good for fifth place overall behind four Jamaican teams – St. Jago (40.83), Kingston College (40.86), Calabar (41.05) and Ruseas (41.76).  Coatesville was seeded third in the race after winning its qualifying heat in 41.55 Friday – the quartet’s best time this season by nearly half a second and just .02 off the school record set in 2017.

In other action at the Penn Relays Saturday, Downingtown West’s Julian Williams, Marcus Gainer, Spencer Mochulski and Terrance Gainer placed third in the High School Boys’ Northeast 4×100 with a time of 42.47.

In the High School Boys 4×400 Suburban/ChesMont race, Coatesville’s Camari Stocker, Artie Burgess, Jahmir Carter and CJ Brown took the gold in 3:22.71, with West Chester East’s Josh Lewin, Tyler Daley, Ray Crooms and MJ Kushner taking second in 3:22.74. Rounding out the top sixth in the event were 3. Downingtown West (3:25.78), 4. Great Valley (3:27.82), 5. Downingtown East (3:38.77) and 6. Henderson (3:40.20).

In the girls portion of the meet, Coatesville’s Sammie Miller, Patrisha Rokins, Wiltricia Snoh and Porsha Miles finished sixth (3:57.75) in the High School Girls 4×400 Philadelphia Area.

Snoh, Miles, Miller and Rokins, who took fifth in the 4×100 Northeast Girls Relay (48.39) Friday, also competed Saturday in the 4×100 Tri-State but failed to qualify after posting a qualifying time of 49.87.
