Coatesville wins 5th straight behind Brickus’ 26; Ward’s 24 lifts streaking Great Valley

Coatesville 85, JP McCaskey 77 – The Red Raiders (7-3 overall) extended their winning streak to five as Jhamir Brickus dropped 26 points, Dapree Bryant added 11 and Kahtero Summers chipped in with 10 Tuesday night in Lancaster.
Trailing 21-18 after the first quarter, Coatesville went up 71-65 after three quarters on the strength of a 43-34 edge in the middle periods.

Great Valley 60, Downingtown West 53 – Liam Ward poured in 24 points, Nate Graeff added 14 and Gavin Frankenheimer chipped in with 9 to lead the sharpshooting Patriots to the nonleague victory Tuesday night.
Great Valley, which won its fifth straight to improve to 7-3 overall, shot 57 percent (21-37) from the floor and 47 percent from beyond the arc (7-15), with Ward and Frankenheimer combining for all seven triples.
For the Whippets (3-5), who could never make up the difference after falling behind 26-18 at the break, Jake Reese led all scorers with 18 point on 6 treys, Davis Reardon hit for 15 (5 treys) and Greg Barton added 10.

Bishop Shanahan 62, Henderson 24 – Joe O’Malley hit for 15 points while Kevin Dodds and David Angelo (4 treys) added 12 apiece to power the Eagles (3-0, 6-1) to the Ches-Mont National victory over the winless Warriors (0-3, 0-8), who were led by Joe Saulino with 9 points.
