Coatesville surges by Downingtown East; Sun Valley routs Kennett

Coatesville 68, Downingtown East 53 – Jhamir Brickus cashed 22 points, Tione Holmes added 11 and Dapree Bryant chipped in with 9 as the Red Raiders recovered from a slow start to pull away with the Ches-Mont League National Division win Thursday night.
Trailing 15-12 after one quarter, Coatesville methodically took control, going up 34-30 at the break and extending it to 49-40 heading into the fourth quarter.
D-East, which was playing without injured 6-foot-6 junior forward Andrew King (ankle), got double figures scoring from Dave Owsik (13 points, 2 treys), Dylan Rowe (12) and Tariq Kalim (10) while falling to 1-2 in the league, 4-4 overall.

Sun Valley 65, Kennett 38 – Vinny DeAngelo poured in 22 points, including 20 in the second half, to help the Vanguards notch the victory in a matchup of Ches-Mont American Division unbeatens.
Also for Sun Valley, which won every quarter including a 21-8 bulge in the fourth to seal the deal, Marvin Freeman nailed three treys en route to 14 points and Isaac Kennon added 10. Mitch Kosara finished with a team-high 12 points for the Blue Demons.

Unionville 60, Great Valley 41 – The Indians took control from the opening tip, posting leads of 15-5 after one quarter, 27-16 at the break and 46-23 heading into the fourth period while registering the Ches-Mont American romp.
Unionville, which knocked down 10 three-balls in the win, got a combined 41 points and 8 treys from Wyatt Hockenberry, Logan Shanahan and Drew Lenkitis. For the Patriots, Jake Prevost and James Taiariol (4 three-pointers) connected for 12 points each.

Rustin 59, Henderson 44 – Taj Asparagus connected for 18 points and Ivy Pettit added 18 as the Golden Knights recorded the Ches-Mont crossover win. For the Warriors, Luke Weirman finished with 11 points and Brendan Gray dropped 8.
 
Downingtown West 61, Bishop Shanahan 48 – The Whippets evened their overall record at 4-4 with the Ches-Mont National triumph over the Eagles.
