Chimino, Verna lift Coatesville; Shanahan falls to Malvern Prep

Coatesville 9, Harry S. Truman 1 – Joe Chimino worked four strong innings, allowing just one hit and one run while striking out four, Jake Verna drove in two runs and Anthony Boccio belted a double to lead the Red Raiders to the nonleague win Tuesday.
 
Malvern Prep 10, Bishop Shanahan 2 – Aiden Fisher had a pair of hits and two runs scored for the Eagles (3-2) in their nonleague loss to the Inter-Ac powerhouse Friars, who were coming off a 10-0 Florida road trip.
Aaron Parker took the loss for Shanahan, allowing eight hits, six runs (three earned) and three walks while striking out one in 4.2 innings of work. Justin Samson picked up an RBI single in the fifth inning for the Eagles.
Malvern Prep, which seized control with five runs in the second inning, was led by winning pitcher Ryan Muntz (4 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 2 K) and Connor Offshack (2-4, double, triple, 2 RBI).
