Chester County set for Carpenter Cup

The Ches-Mont League and Pioneer Athletic Conference will combine forces for Chester County in the annual Carpenter Cup baseball competition, beginning with a first-round game on Friday, June 15 against Burlington County (NJ). At 12:30 pm at the UYA Showcase Field in FDR Park in South Philadelphia.

The single-elimination tournament continues at FDR Park the week of June 18 before shifting to Citizens Bank Park, home of the Phillies, for the semifinals and championship on Friday, June 22, and Saturday, June 23.

State playoff qualifier Downingtown West has three – infielder Stephen Posner, pitcher Jack Reese, first baseman Kevin Small – of the 10 Ches-Mont players on the squad.

Great Valley (nfielder/outfielder Pete Giombetti; infielder Connor Malloy) and Oxford (outfielder Brett Kochmansky, pitcher/infielder/outfielder Justin Neskie) will send two players each to the prestigious tournament, while Avon Grove (infielder Bryce Porter), Coatesville (outfielder Cam Trego) and West Chester Rustin (catcher Sean Hopkins) will have one representative each.

Chester County will be managed by Phoenixville coach Neil Herman.
