Britt, Downingtown West slam West Chester East; Samulewicz’s 2 HRs, 6 RBI pace Unionville

Downingtown West 11, West Chester East 1, 5 innings – Drew Britt belted his third grand slam of the season and second of the week as the Whippets rolled to the Ches-Mont League National Division win Friday.
Adam Grintz pitched perfect baseball with six strikeouts after allowing a lead-off homer to Tim Becker and Andrew Ciliberto drove in four runs with a double and homer for D-West, which took control with nine runs in the second inning.

Unionville 13, Sun Valley 5 – Nick Samulewicz drove in six runs with a pair of home runs and notched the mound win, striking out 12 while allowing seven hits and two earned runs in six strong innings, as the Indians captured the Ches-Mont American decision.
Joe Zubillaga added a three-run homer for Unionville, offsetting a solo shot by Jared Korenkiewicz for the Vanguards.

Kennett 6, Great Valley 5, 8 innings – Owen Dougherty’s sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning pushed across the deciding run for the Blue Demons in their Ches-Mont American triumph.
Dougherty finished with three RBI, drilling a two-run double in the top of the sixth inning to forge a 5-5 tie. Also for Kennett, Ben Lesher homered and drove in three runs.
For the Patriots, Jacob Baugher and Matt Alleva both went 3-for-4.

Downingtown East 15, Octorara 3, 6 innings –  Mike Rodriguez went 4-for-5 with a double and six RBI, Albert Choi was 3-for-4 with a triple, four runs and three RBI and Grant Umberger worked five sharp innings for the win to lead the Cougars to the Ches-Mont crossover triumph.
For the Braves, who allowed four-run bursts by D-East in the third and sixth innings, Andy Imbierowicz drove in two runs.
