Bradley powers Shanahan; Kennett rolls behind Thureen

UPPER DARBY – Lauren Bradley collected a pair of goals as Bishop Shanahan used a strong second half to capture a 3-2 nonleague victory over Bonner/Prendergast Monday.
Alana Pappas and Amber Bryan combined for 11 saves to pace the defense for the Eagles, who used a 2-1 run after the break to secure the win.

Kennett 6, Pope John Paul II 0 – Sydney Thureen led a balanced attack with a pair of goals to carry the Blue Demons past the Golden Panthers in the season opener for both teams.

Conestoga 4, Downingtown East 1 – Anna Effinger’s second-half goal and Ava Irwin’s 10 saves were the bright spots for the Cougars in their nonleague loss to the Pioneers.

Garnet Valley 3, Sun Valley 0 – Vanguards goalie Jaclyn Prince was brilliant in net with 28 saves but it wasn’t enough to prevent the nonleague loss. Tina Rawa had two goals while Claire Wolfe added two assists for the Jaguars.

Haverford 5, West Chester East 1 – Nicole Fredricks’ goal from the top of the circle with 7:29 left in the first half cut the deficit to 2-1, but the Fords closed things out with three unanswered strikes to notch the nonleague win. WC East goalie Carlee Fulton had nine saves.
