Boys swimming roundup (12/18); Doyle, Ye, Esslinger lead Downingtown East

Downingtown East 101, Downingtown West 82 – The Cougars rolled to the Ches-Mont National victory Tuesday behind the trio of Ben Doyle, Vincent Ye and Robby Esslinger.
Doyle (200 IM, 100 breast), Ye (200 free, 100 fly) and Esslinger (50 free, 100 free) all touched first in two individual events while participating in two winning relays each as D-East took the top spot in all three relay events.

Coatesville 93, Bishop Shanahan 81 – Ethan Moore (200 free, 100 free), Jacob Vannoy (200 IM, 100 fly), and Ethan Vannoy (50 free, 100 breast) notched two individual wins and also participated in a pair of winning relays each to pace the Red Raiders (1-0 league, 2-0 overall).
Also for Coatesville, Sean Wolstenholme touched first in the 100 back and swam a leg on two individual relay winners. For the Eagles, Jack Fidanza took the 500 free and Michael Robinson placed first in diving (191.45 points).
 
Malvern Prep tops Unionville
Thomas Smiddy (500 free), Jack Murray (100 breast) and freshmen Brian Dym, Jack Lawrence, Jacob McCann, Grant McKnight, Jeremy Pierce, and Dylan Rafferty all had strong performances for the Indians in their nonleague setback.
