Bock’s three-run bomb boosts Coatesville; Henderson drills Sun Valley behind Abbonizio

Coatesville 8, Unionville 5 – Kayla Bock hammered a three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to snap a 5-5 tie and carry the Red Raiders to the Ches-Mont League crossover win Wednesday.
Payton Landis finished with three hits and two RBI for Coatesville, which also got two hits each from Bock, Phoebe Clemens (triple, 2 RBI), Ashley Dowlin and Natalie Florschutz. Dowlin picked up the pitching win in relief of Florschutz.
For the Indians, Sydney Horan and Danielle Panati belted home runs.

Henderson 10, Sun Valley 3 – Grace Abbonizio went 3-3 with a double, four stolen bases and four runs scored, Morgan Schmotzer had two doubles and a single with two RBI and Brooke Matonti was 2-4 with three runs and two RBI to power the Warriors.
Krista Marlin went the distance in the circle for the win, allowing nine hits, three earned runs and three walks while striking out six. Driving in runs for the Vanguards were Brianna Lawson, Kylie Koe and Madison Koons, while Hailey Lipka, Alayana Lloyd and Koons finished with two hits each.

Downingtown East 14, Oxford 3, 6 innings – The Cougars pounded out 14 hits, including five for extra bases, and scored in every inning but the first to record the lopsided Ches-Mont crossover victory.
Val Ponto’s three-run homer triggered the assault for D-East, which got two RBI apiece from Ally Meakim and Grace McKelvy and multiple hit performances from winning pitcher Avery Byrnes (6 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 9 K), Meakim, Nicki Sudall and Chelsey Kacmar.
For the Hornets, who were locked in a 1-1 tie before D-East struck for five runs in the top of the third, Danielle Stackhouse drove in two runs and Abby O’Connor went 2-3 with a run scored.
West  Chester East 15, Kennett 0, 6 innings – Jess Gomez tossed three hitless, scoreless innings walking one and striking out five before Olivia Ronayne came on for three more scoreless frames to pace the Vikings, who blew open a tight 1-0 game with seven runs in the fourth inning before bringing on the mercy rule with six more runs in the sixth.
Amanda Gomez went 3-3 with a grand slam, double and five RBI for WC East, which also got multiple hit games from Kinzie Thompson, Alison Hill and Jess Gomez and three RBI from Kelsey McLaughlin.

Downingtown West 15, WC Rustin 0, 3 innings – The Whippets set the tone with nine runs in the first inning, tacking on four in the second and two in the third to bring on the 15-run mercy in the Ches-Mont crossover mismatch.
Cait Coker and Carly Grandizio both belted home runs and drove in three runs apiece, the same RBI total posted by nine-hole hitter Nina Gallagher. Natalie Beebe and Ava Zettlemoyer combined on a two-hitter with four strikeouts in three innings of work.
Avon Grove 6, Great Valley 2 – Lauren O’Neal (2-3) and Olivia Kunitsky (3-4, 2 doubles) drove in two runs apiece as the Red Devils pounded out 10 hits in their Ches-Mont League interdivisional triumph.
Maddie Grablewski went the distance in the circle for the win, allowing just six hits, two runs (one earned) and two walks while striking out three.
