Bishop Shanahan, Downingtown West fall in district semifinals

(1) Villa Maria Academy 17, (4) Bishop Shanahan 10 – Jess Holowsko and Monica Manley recorded hat tricks and Jess Gorr posted eight saves but it wasn’t enough as the Eagles fell short in the District 1-AA semifinals Tuesday.
Shanahan, which has already clinched a state playoff bid, will face (6) Pottsgrove Thursday at a time and site to be determined for third-place in the district.
