Beebe pitches in for Downingtown West; West Chester East wins 10th straight

Downingtown West 2, Bishop Shanahan 0 – Whippets ace Natalie Beebe went the distance for the Ches-Mont League National Division shutout Friday, scattering eight hits and walking none while striking out four.
In extending its winning streak to four, D-West (17-2) scored single runs in the first and fifth innings as Morgan DeFreitas led the offense with two hits and one RBI. For the Eagles (13-5), Alexa Peterson was 3-3 and Emily Sano went 2-4 in support of losing pitcher Devon Miller, who allowed just four hits and two earned runs while striking out seven in her complete-game effort.
 
West Chester East 6, Henderson 2 – Olivia Ronayne allowed just four hits while striking out 12 in her dominating effort in the circle and Lexie Wilson keyed an 11-hit attack with two hits and two RBI to propel the streaking Vikings to the Ches-Mont National win.
WC East (16-2), which also got two hits each from Kelsey McLaughlin and Kinzie Thompson en route to its 10th straight victory, set the tone early with two runs in the first inning and three more in the second to seize a 5-0 lead that was more than enough for Ronayne.
Grace Abbonizio had two of the Warriors’ four hits and scored a run while Brooke Espenshade and Jordyn Melnick picked up RBI for Henderson (5-12).

Coatesville 9, Sun Valley 0 – Melian Minniti and Ashly Dowlin combined on a six-hit shutout, Payton Landis drove in four runs with a home run and two singles and Madison Friel keyed a five-run burst in the third inning with a three-run triple as the Red Raiders (12-7) cruised to the Ches-Mont crossover win.
Kayla Bock added three hits including a double and drove in one run for Coatesville to help offset Grace Keeley’s two-hit outing for the Vanguards (6-10).
