Avon Grove tops Coatesville behind Barnhart, Long; Unionville outslugs Great Valley

Avon Grove 6, Coatesville 1 – Lexi Barnhart went the distance in the circle for the win and Caitlin Long blasted a three-run home run to carry the Red Devils past the Red Raiders in Ches-Mont League National Division action Monday.
Payton Landis averted a shutout with a solo homer in the top of the seventh for Coatesville (4-2).

Unionville 10, Great Valley 8 – The Indians grabbed a 10-3 lead with five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and held on down the stretch for the Ches-Mont American win.
Amanda Panati (2-4, 2 doubles, 3 RBI) and Sydney Horan (4-4, HR, double) led the way for Unionville, which also got home runs from Analise Griffiths and Swetha Gopal.
For Great Valley, Amanda Heins launched a pair of home runs while Alex Rubin and Corinne McCarthy also went deep in a contest that featured seven round-trippers.

Downingtown West 12, Downingtown East 3 – Cait Coker (2-3, HR, 3 runs, 3 RBI), Morgan DeFreitas (HR, 4 RBI) and winning pitcher Natalie Beebe (3 RBI) were the linchpins for the Whippets, who rode an eight-run burst in the sixth inning to the Ches-Mont National victory.
Oxford 10, WC Rustin 7 – The Hornets built an early 9-0 lead and held on down the stretch for the Ches-Mont American decision. Abbey O’Conner finished with four hits and three RBI and Kaclyn Rees added three hits and two RBI for Oxford.
